Our Oak Tree...The Roots

We really are turning our classroom into "My Big Backyard"!  This week, we started building an oak tree.  We divided the work according to the parts of the tree.  During Center Time, the children came up and signed up for the part of the tree that they wanted to work on.

The root group went first.  Our research told us that oak trees have very large root systems.  We are going to be making a lot of roots!

100th Day of School

We had a great time celebrating the 100th Day of School!
Will and Malik's shirts say it all!

We started the day with a special snack that had 100 things in it!

Next, we made necklaces with 100 Fruit Loops on it.

Finally, we made self-portraits of our 100 year old selves.
