Our New Class Pet

This weekend, Mrs. Shelton noticed that her two hamsters were not getting along.  She decided that they needed to be separated and asked if we wanted a new class pet.  We now have a very sweet hamster!!!  We haven't named her yet but I did notice a short list of suggestions that someone wrote down and put by her home.

Of course we will be reading lots about hamsters and doing a bit of research so that we can take good care of our new friend!
Everyone loved getting to meet her and watch her roll around in her exercise ball!  I think that she is going to be a great addition to our classroom.

Walk About Puppets visits AEEC

To help celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday, we were treated to a puppet show this morning.  As always, the children loved watching Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Look at some of the pictures from the show!

He told the show in sign language also.  Right here he is teaching the children the sign for gold.

AEEC's Nights at Marco's Pizza

Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7 have been designated as AEEC nights at Marco's Pizza.

There is a letter in the Friday folder telling about how to order your pizza for this fundraiser!  Wednesday, March 7 has been designated as Orange Pod's night.  However, you can order pizza either night and still support AEEC!

The children worked hard to decorate their pizza boxes.  If you order pizza on one of the nights, your pizza will be given to you in the box that your child decorated!

Our Sweetheart Graphs

With Valentine's day coming up, we decided to explore the different colors of hearts that come in a pack of Sweethearts.  After opening two packs of Sweethearts, the children constructed a graph and recorded their findings.  They used the information from their graphs to determine which color hearts they had the most of and which color they had the least.  When the graphs were completed, we put our Sweetheart Graphs in our Math Journals.

Brayden and Elizabeth are working on their graph.
