Camping in the Classroom!
After playing at Cheezie's Pizza Restaurant for over a month, the children decided that they needed a change. After a quick vote, they decided to turn the Homeliving Center into a camp ground!
It was a tie between Camp and Jewlery Store so we had to have a run-off and Camp won.
We learned a lot about camping!
This is how we began to transform Home Living center into our camp ground.
Shelby, Kounte, Brent and Baylor are working on the tree trunks.
Scarlett and Shelby made branches.
A lot of people cut out leaves.
Brent and Baylor measured to see how long the paper needed to be for the grass.

"Egg" citing News!
While we were away enjoying Spring Break, our incubator was warming up to a perfect 100 degrees. By the time we got to school on Monday, everyone was excited to find 15 chicken eggs safely insided!
This is the first time that I have used an automatic egg turner when incubating eggs. Mother hens turn their eggs several times each day to keep the yolk from sticking to one side.
We are learning all about chickens and eggs this week in Shared Reading. We learned from our research that it takes 21 days for eggs to hatch. That means that on April 21 or 22 we should have chicks!
We found a great website that shows us exactly what is happening in our eggs each day.

Celebration at AEEC!
Twice each year, everyone at AEEC meets in the Tiger Den and celebrates all of the things that we have learned! It is so much fun to sing, dance and celebrate with all of our friends!
Orange Pod celebrated some of the things that we have learned about Italy!
Thank You Johnny Brusco's
Our class was treated to a special pizza lunch from Johnny Brusco's! Mr. Kevin, the owner of the East University restaurant, heard about Cheezie's. He loved that the Home Living center was a pizza restaurant and decided to send us real pizza! Thank you Mr. Kevin!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday
We had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. We read his books all week long and Miss Rush planned some great activities that the children loved!
We sorted and graphed colored gold fish after reading
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!
We also made our own addition sentences with red and blue fish.
We also read Bartholomew and the Oobleck and then we made our own green Oobleck!
This is what we thought Oobleck would be like.
We discovered that Oobleck was both a solid and a liquid.
You could pour it and it would drip off of your fingertips but you could also form it into a ball and it was hard when you punched it.
When we were finished, we made predictions about walking on Oobleck.
Here's what we though.
Watch the video to see what happens when you try to walk on Oobleck.
