Our next group worked on the trunk. They decided that apple tree trunks are solid, so they wanted our trunk to have a solid inside.
1. Make a circle with brown paper.
2. Put three tubes together.
3. Wrap paper around tubes to make a cylinder.
4. Connect roots to trunk.
They tried step 1. but it didn't work, so the trunk group decided to skip it.
For the bark, this group decided to use brown butcher paper. We measured the length of the trunk so that we knew how much paper to cut.
After the paper was cut, they decided to crumple up the paper to make it look rough like tree bark.
Finally, our root group came back and put the roots around the apple tree trunk.
